So I’m starting a new little sub-category of my Business Casual Superstar series. I’m calling it “One Day Deals,” and it should be pretty self-explanatory. This section is for items you can buy on sale that are only available for purchase during the ides of the month and must be worn only to black-tie affairs when you are attending alone.

Anyway, these will mostly be accessories, and they will often be dirt cheap. And when they’re stones, they’ll be lab-created. But hey, who cares, right? Don’t get me wrong, I have certain real, awesome, non-lab gemstones in my collection (all gifts; I can’t justify spending that kind of money on myself but I never turn down a gift), but most of my stuff is artificial. Metals, beads, artificial stones, semi-precious stones, lab-created stuff. Who cares?
I don’t really wear jewelry but if I do, I’d rather I had stuff that generally matched whatever I was wearing, and wasn’t super pricey so that if I left a ring or something next to a public sink while washing my hands (UGH I DO THIS ALL THE TIME) I don’t feel too badly.
So if you’re all fancy and sniff at lab-created stones, go wash your hair with caviar somewhere else, Princess. I can’t get you actual gemstones at this price, anyway. :P
