Until I get back to my daily blogging with my fun outfits usually inspired by celebrities or TV characters, I’m going to try to post little snippets about daily or local deals, called Business Bargains or Local Love. These will all be work-related, somehow, and will be things I like or things I want to try, that I’m sure some of my readers will take an interest in as well. In May I’ll be back to my normal blogging schedule, hopefully. Yay!
Today’s deal that I think a lot of you will go for is the Glowing Skin collection at Bare Escentuals.
I’m sharing this mostly because I’ve used Bare Escentuals before (and still have some of their stuff in my neglected little make up bin) and love their products. I have very sensitive skin, and also combination skin – as in, dry in some parts, oily in others. I have a hell of a time finding something that will zap the oily spots and moisturize the dry spots without irritating my skin.
(I keep a lot of tea tree and olive oil around, as tea tree oil is great for treating little blemishes – like the kind that occasionally pop up if something irritates my skin – and olive oil is great for healing and soothing the skin and just kind of balancing it out.)
I love, love, love their makeup, because it’s light and powdery and goes on so easily, and for someone as spastic and twitchy and attention-span-deficit as I am, it’s great to have something that you can just brush on really quickly and wander away from and forget. I’m not one of those people that can spend forever in front of the mirror, layering on moisturizer and foundation and concealer and primer and blush and bronzer and shimmer crap and God only knows what else most of us slather on our faces.
Hell, I’m lucky if I slick on some sunscreen and remember to dab on some colored lip gloss (instead of the Alba non-petroleum-based petroleum jelly I love to use on my lips) before I run out the door to go get into trouble.
A great cleanser and moisturizer that fix trouble spots on my face, and a little thing of powder/foundation/concealer/all-in-one that goes on smooth and fast to kind of even out my skin tone is a great way to wear make up and look somehow NOT like I just rolled out of bed, without laboring over it.
Bare Escentuals has tons of great stuff up right now, and some great stuff on sale, and this $90 value is marked down to $60, so if you’re interested, head on over to snag it before it’s no longer in stock!
