So I’m back with a bang! Okay, not really. More like back with a loud sigh executed only for the purpose of getting attention, not because it’s inspired by ennui or frustration or not enough air getting to the lungs.
So I’ve been feeling kind of fancy lately, you guys. My outfits don’t really reflect that. It’s cold and wet in Chicago, which means I’m schlepping around in jeans and sweaters and my little all-weather boots. I can’t WAIT until it’s warm enough for me to ditch the jacket in the morning and wear my pretty new silk coat. I have one in ivory, black, and emerald green and I love them.
So since I’m hardly a fancy role model these days, I thought I’d put together something kind of fancy, but understated. Hopefully. I dressed it down a bit but it’s still kind of fancy. Whatever. SOMETIMES A GIRL JUST WANTS TO BE FANCY GODDAMN.
Also, how many times can I use ‘fancy’ in a single blog post? Let’s find out.
Let’s not, though.
Jessica Howard Floral Print Dress ………. $48
Sonoma Cardigan in Pink Heather ………. $14.99
Pleated Satin Flat in Royal Purple ………. $14.99
Crocodile Clutch in Purple ………. $16.99
I picked this black and white dress with the flowers on it. It’s got a tiered skirt, so that’s kind of fancy. I paired it with a very plain pink cardigan, and went with purple for the shoes and purse. I liked the idea of a fake croc bag with this, and a clutch, specifically, and knew the flats would be better in dressing this thing down.
There’s not much more to it.
I got new glasses today from like Hong Kong or something, and the frame is kind of flimsy and my prescription changed since last time, so I’m still getting used to the new prescription and the way the new glasses sit on my face and all that.
Basically, my eyes are all icky and my head is like WUT so I’m just going to go eat burgers and take pills and watch South Park all day.
SPRING BREAK WHOO!!
