No, no, not to practice law.
Recently, a bunch of US colleges and universities have said that SAT/ACT are optional, and will not be given as much weight in the admissions process as before.
This means that they’re paying more attention to things like your admissions essay (along with recommendation letters – possibly – and extra-curriculars). This is where the Hoomster comes in.
I am sensational when it comes to writing admissions essays – on both the college and graduate school level. I’ve worked with students before on both types of essays and they’ve been accepted to almost all of the schools that they applied to. Of course, I’m not taking credit full credit for that; there are tons of variables that influence the overall outcome of being accepted or denied. I’m just putting it out there that my essay-writing skills rock.
The thing is, for college essays, you need a gimmick. You need something that shows your creativity and why you’re an asset in general that the school should definitely try to snag. If you’ve read my posts, you’ll notice that I’m kind of bizarre. But spinning that in a positive light: I am very creative when it comes to representing myself with words. I once wrote a cover letter for a friend (which was a big hit, by the way, and she got the job) in which I used the words “beautifully crafted sandwich.” If you feel that, based on my writing as seen on this blog, I’m sufficiently charming and smooth, hire me on. I’ve got tons of experience with this sort of thing and you will not be disappointed.
(To clarify, I do not write essays FOR you. I sit with you for as long as you need and talk about your different qualities, experiences, and strengths that should be in an essay, and then I help you package them in a 1-2 page letter, all properly formatted with excellent grammar and all that jazz.)
I’m available online and in person if you’re in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, and I charge below the market rate. To inquire further, please email me at hrashid24@gmail.com.
I’m also available for in-person or online tutoring in English, Social Studies, Algebra I, and Algebra II.
Feel free to contact me at anytime. And do not attempt to guilt me into offering you free sessions. I used to do that when I was dumb and easily influenced by Papa Hoomster, who feels I should do everything for free, because he’s not from America. Boo-ya.

This is a great idea. Nice pitch too. I think people tend to ask those they are comfortable with (or feel they can easily get comfortable with) for help in writing personal essays. And you’re definitely that someone.
I applaud the idea, but this post begs one of those “times are tough for law students when … ” jokes :)
Hahaha! It’s true. But in my defense, I’ve been doing this sort of thing for years. Now I just have a blog that reaches more people than my random word of mouth. :-P
