I know you love The Office, so you’ll probably like this. Do you think you could put together a look that mirrors Kelly Kapoor’s style? I think she’s the best dressed girl on the Office just because she’s brave enough to wear florals all the time and really bright colors but somehow not look 12.
She doesn’t look 12, but she sure acts 12. :-P
God, I love Kelly. She is one half of my favorite Office ‘ship, Kelly and Ryan. I love them way more than Jim and Pam just because I think they’re the most realistic. Or they were, until the writers went nuts and sent Ryan to Thailand with a bunch of high school kids and then brought him back and shenanigans. You know. But up until about Season 3-4, they were the most realistic couple.
Jim and Pam are epic love. Epic fairy tale love. And that doesn’t exist. He’s loved her since the day he met her, she called off her wedding to her high school sweetheart to be with him, then pined away for him for a year or whatever while he was with his girlfriend, and then they started dating and they got engaged and they got pregnant and they got married and everyone did the Chris Brown Youtube Wedding dance at their wedding and they’re sooooo in love and YEAH RIGHT.
Ryan and Kelly, however…realistic.
She really wanted a boyfriend and he really wanted someone to have sex with on a fairly regular basis. She was totally desperate and glommed on to him and before he knew it, he had this kinda-sorta girlfriend who was super clingy and a total psycho, but he put up with her and did little things to make her happy and she stayed with him and took care of him even though he was kind of a jerk to her, and they were just so mismatched and didn’t want the same things at all but they stayed together and sometimes they had their moments when it was like, okay, maybe this isn’t an abject failure. Maybe this is kind of nice.
SUPER REALISTIC.
Oh, God, I’m so going to end up a Cat Lady. Personally? I blame Wuthering Heights and Captain Murderer. Wuthering Heights ruined my chances of having a relationship because RELATIONSHIPS ARE TOXIC AND FUCKING INSANE AND HOW CAN YOU *REALLY* EXPECT TO AGE AND ADAPT AND CHANGE AT THE SAME RATE AS SOMEONE ELSE I MEAN REALLY and Captain Murderer ruined my chances of not being totally freaked out by the institution of marriage because OH MY GOD HE BAKES HIS WIVES INTO PIES AND EATS THEM AND WHICH GENIUS CAME UP WITH THIS WHOLE MARRIAGE IDEA ANYWAY LET’S FIND HIM AND THROW THINGS AT HIM YOU GUYS OH MY GOD.

Now that I’ve scared off any and all potential suitors, let’s get down to business. Here is our lovely Kelly Kapoor, who is totally insane.

Kelly wears a lot of black and a lot of gray along with her bright colors. It’s what keeps her looking polished and chic most of the time, and those colors really pull her bright outfits together. She wears pastels, florals, and super bright colors, always with very sexy details like deep v-necks and lace and silk and bows.
Here we have a v-neck shirred lace top with girly ruffles that Kelly would adore. I paired it with a medium-to-light gray skirt because it can be tricky pairing dark gray with black. It just looks like your washing machine had a little accident and washed the gray piece too hard, or like you used a little too much bleach on accident. Not good.
Kelly also wears tights in the fall, winter, and spring. I added a bright blue sweater to this dark look. It’s a cardigan, which Kelly loves, and it’s in a totally eye-catching color, and Kelly loves getting that kind of attention.
While she does wear heels to the office, we often see her running around in cute flats, and she’d love the comfort of this quilted flat and she’d love the little bow on top.
