Who doesn’t remember Daria, a study in teen over-it-ness? Ah, I remember her, back in the days when MTV and VH1 and Nickelodeon were worth watching… Daria, Doug, Rugrats, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Ren & Stimpy, and so on. Oh, how I miss them all.
Anyway. Daria.

Let’s take a look at what I came up with.
Windbreaker Skirt ………. $22.80
Unisex Fine Jersey Tee in Orange ………. $6
Swing Jacket in Spruce ………. $49
Miss Me Yang Western Style Boot ………. $15
We’ve got our black pleated skirt from Forever 21, paired with Daria’s orange top. I found this blazer in spruce, a cool cool enough to work with the orange. Having her in a warm green (paired with the orange tee and the black skirt) would make her look way too Halloweenie, although, since it is Halloweeen…whatever.
I know she wears combat boots, but I was trying to stick to the $100 thing because I’ve been posting so many Inspired By or Knock Off outfits lately that don’t stick to that budget, so I picked these slouchy heeled boots for more of a grown up look.
Yes, that’s cheating.
I don’t care.
Can I just say something? If you go to the American Apparel site, all you see is T&A. That’s all you see. And nothing is blurred or pixelated! That stuff is decidedly NSFW! If those pictures were of famous girls and were posted on gossip blogs, those strategic bits would be blurred out or have a can of opened tuna Photoshopped onto them. (Yes, I occasionally read Hollywood Tuna; you’ve caught me.)
But somehow, they get away with it.
Ugh. Weak.

Not to be all know-it-all-y but Daria was on MTV & first premiered on Beavis & Butthead.
Goddamn. I’m an idiot. :-P
But I love the costume!
And those were some awesome Nick shows. I miss them too.
Heels were necessary here. We can’t have a frumpy costume…
Daria’s sister reminds me of original Mandy Moore.
I’m late to the party but you got the boots all wrong, those are a pair of Doc Martens or the like, nothing stiletto-ish as you selected.
