But I’m posting it anyway.

This is the cast of NBC’s The Office. The promotional still is from the wedding of two of the characters, Jim and Pam.
Why does this picture make me happy? Because a certain young man in a suit has his hand on the hip of a certain Indian chick in purple. They would be Ryan Bailey Howard (BJ Novak) and Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling) and they are INSANE. They are the most toxic, hilarious, on-again-off-again-in-the-worst-way couple ever AND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.
When I started watching The Office, I had one rule: Do not like Ryan/kelly as a couple. I could like them individually (I did) but not as a couple. Why? Because I would not be that cliche; I would not be the Indian (Subcontinental) chick that loved the couple on The Office that was partially composed of an Indian chick.
I know. I’m so dumb. It’s just how I roll.
But then I couldn’t help it, because Ryan and Kelly are awesome, and they are the anti-thesis of epic-love Jim and Pam. Jim loved Pam since he met her, and she had to go through a long process of dumping her fiance of 3 years and watch him date another woman for a year before they ended up where they are in the picture, married with a baby on the way.
Ryan and Kelly? Oh, they got together because he forgot it was February 13th and they hooked up and Kelly was so desperate for a boyfriend that she just latched on to him and he was just so spineless (and into the steady lovin’) that he went with it. FOR THREE YEARS. I don’t know, that sounds pretty darn realistic to me.
They broke up when he got a job at corporate as a junior CFO or something, then got together after he was fired for embezzlement and had to come work at the office again as a temp, and then they broke up when he dumped her and ran off to Thailand with some kids from high school (well, a high school), and they were technically broken up at the wedding, still, only they were dancing at the night-before party and they danced down the aisle together toward Jim and Pam in a spoof of the Youtube wedding where everyone dances to woman-beater Chris Brown’s song. The entire episode was pure perfection, which is astounding because they could have really messed it up and they didn’t. (And it was written by Indian-chick-in-purple Mindy Kaling, further ensuring its success.)
Plus, I’m in love with BJ Novak, who plays Ryan Bailey Howard. He’s amazing. Plus, we were both, at one point in our lives, enrolled in the same upscale school district in Newton, Massachusetts, so naturally, I feel this makes us soulmates.
GAH. Guess I just have a thing for dark-haired, medium build, insanely smart, sorta-douchey Jewish boys. :-P
Okay, back to our regularly scheduled programming. I just had to squee over this picture because it is made of love.

“Guess I just have a thing for dark-haired, medium build, insanely smart, sorta-douchey Jewish boys.”
Thank goodness for that. ;)
And I’m not ‘sorta-douchey.’ I’m ‘a touch douchey.’
Were did you get your blog design?
