The Reasonably Prudent Law Student

It’s been a while since I did one of these. Been a while since I posted, really, before today. So here we go: a pretty little green dress and an outfit built around it.

First off, I adore this dress. Check out those pretty, vibrant colors! It’s got a modest neckline and I like the sash (black can always be used to tie an outfit together; boring, but it works). Plus, it’s got an empire-waist, so it will be flattering for a lot of different body types, which is always a plus. I love that the straps on the shoulders are black and banded instead of just being a continuation of the dress. Little things like that get me.

The cardigan is huge for me. It caught my eye immediately: I love the embellishments! And it’s marked down from $66 to a mere $20 at Kohl’s. Amaaaaazing. It’s pretty and professional and just works with this outfit, especially since we can work the white right in.

Speaking of working the white in, take a gander at the shoes. Cute! A smaller, functional heel, clean lines, but the buckle and the stripe make it a little unexpected. You know by now I’m a fan of that. They’re just adorable, definitely something I’d wear to work without a second thought.

Last but not least, the pebbled satchel. Not the best pick for this outfit, but, come on, I’m on a $100 allowance. It’s a solid black purse that works with this outfit. Hopefully, you have a snazzier one of your own that you can substitute in. :) A black and white bag here would be cute, I think.

And yes, using black accessories to tie the outfit together is boring, but whatever. Every woman owns at LEAST one pair of nice black shoes and a nice black bag. Don’t lie; you know I tell the truth. And black is just work-appropriate. And it’s easy.

And it’s a cop-out on my part. :-P Whatever.
